Our Methodology

Philosophy

Be ME Center's philosophy has been inspired by DIR/Floortime, Reggio Emilia, ESDM, a strength-based approach, and faith-based values to support children with diverse developmental profiles. We will utilize a transdisciplinary approach with Occupational and Speech Therapists supporting children throughout their day, along with collaboration from a BCBA and Teacher to set up a child centered approach to learning and therapy.

Our Clients

We serve children with an autism diagnosis who have been misunderstood, undervalued, and forced to conform to therapeutic models that do not line up with their way of being in the world. At Be ME Center, children are celebrated for who they are, not judged for who they are not. We welcome families who are proactive and take ownership. Out families are looking for a partner not a childcare provider. They believe in their children and see potential where others are problems. They trust us and are willing to be an active part of their child’s plan for success.

Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy

Our approach emphasizes respect for all neurotypes, focusing on creating an environment that values and supports each child's unique way of interacting with the world.

Strength-Based Approach

The Be ME program builds on each child’s existing skills and interests rather than focusing on deficits. We will promote the child’s strengths and strong interests as we play and engage in autistic normed social skills in order to progress our children through developmentally appropriate social emotional capacities.

Family-Centered Practices

At Be ME we involve families as partners in the educational process, recognizing their insights and contributions, including their faith and spiritual beliefs.

Therapeutic Framework

inspired by 4 main approaches

DIR/Floortime

A relationship-based approach used to promote an individual’s development through respectful, playful, joyful, and engaging process This evidenced-based approach uses the power of relationships and human connection to encourage the development of the capacities for self-regulation, engagement, communication, shared social problem solving, and creative, organized, and reflective thinking and reasoning

Reggio Emilia Inspired Approach

An approach that promotes the image of the child as a capable, creative, and powerful individual with the desire to connect and engage with others while exploring the materials of the environment at their own pace. (This approach will be utilized as an inspiration - not a replica - for how our classroom is set up, how the therapy will focus more on process vs product, and documentation will also follow the progress of “learning by doing”)

Early Start Denver Model (ESDM)

This evidenced based model uses joint activity routines based around the child’s interests to explore new learning opportunities, build engagement between child and caregiver, and foster all communication skills.

Faith-Based Integration

Be ME will support faith-based teachings that are woven into daily activities and lessons, supporting moral development, and fostering a sense of community.
Be ME Center is a play-based, family-focused, therapy-driven learning community that helps neurodiverse children discover and grow into their best selves.
